to everything there is a season…

Life’s little mysteries. I believe that people enter your life to teach you something. How someone shouldn’t be is a lesson in itself.

I was going through my phone today, deleting numbers and came across a number of someone who treated me like shit. I sent a text, before deleting the number, saying “I just wanted to say thank you for teaching me what a man shouldn’t do.” Because I truly believe that if someone teaches you something — even something that you don’t wish to learn at the time — that you should thank them.

If it wasn’t for this guy doing what he did and me having to rebound and carry on on PoF, then I wouldn’t have met M. I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to meet so many interesting — if at times, dull and boring — people. It has made me realise that he actually did me a favour. It didn’t seem like it at the time, but it has made it all the more real, now that I have found what I’m looking for.

It’s a little thing in life that people cross our paths at various points to teach us something — about our world or about our life. I truly believe that everyone who is in my life now is here for a reason. I know that people drift in for brief periods and there are those that are here for the long haul. But they are all here to teach me something — about others or about myself. I am learning about myself and the people in it every day. That should be the way you approach life. Live in the now. Not in the future with the what ifs or in the past with the “I wish I would have done this differently”. Just live for now, and take life each day as it comes. That’s what I plan to do. And I’m happy with that.
